A Guilder's cargo-train has been ambushed whilst refuelling at a depot near Ashpypole, sparking fears over the security of local trade-routes.
Travelling under the guard of the Majjanan Jinn on behalf of local Guilder Ezequiel Desilvo, the attack came during one of the worst hive quakes in recent weeks. Damage to generators plunged the region into darkness allowing the attackers to remain unidentified.
The Guilders Association find themselves under increasing pressure from industry to ensure the security of vital trade routes but currently no action seems forthcoming. They have refused to confirm the nature of the missing cargo and continue to insist that the current threat level to traders and industry is low.
Mr. Desilvo expressed regret over the incident but suggested that the raiders success was predominantly attributable to adverse conditions than a lack of security,
"I understand people's fears and admit that the hijack on route E-09 is regrettable, however the security employed for cargo routes is more than adequate to deal with current threats."
He added,
"The GA cannot and will not be held liable for the uncertain nature of conditions within domes, and incidents such as these remain rare. The attackers were nothing more than opportunists who got lucky."
However it seems that local hivers remain sceptical of the official position. One man from Ashpypole who wishes to remain anonymous explained,
"Sounds like a load of b******s to me".
