An unamed male lost his life falling from a walkway when charged by rats and a 12 year old boy suffered a fatal reaction to an infected bite. Most of those bitten have suffered only mild infections, sometimes accompanied by a violent fever that quickly passes.
Rat numbers reached their peak around noon on Saturday, at which time gunfire could be heard only a short distance from the settlement walls. Reports suggest the local Majjanan Jinn gang confronted a sizable contingent of Badskins looting near the Baynine distribution depot, though Guilders have denied the claims, saying only,
"I don't have to talk to you, you limey sh**e. F*** off back to your lie spinning print-press or I'll chop your nose off."
The infestation forced many Ashpypole businesses to close for the day, including the convenience units run by Bogart Crapper of Fecal Matters Ltd. Mr. Crapper, known locally as 'Boggy Two-sheds' commented,
"Some young lady had only gone to drop the kids off at the pool and next thing one of the mangey b******s has jumped right out the sh****."
Mr. Crapper closed the services for the remainder of the afternoon as pipework was cleaned with steam-jets.
Superstitious residents are continuing to hang gutted rat remains outside their properties, but Guilders are urging people to remain calm and continue business as usual. According to the local Guild Association the Ashpypole infestation was "a one-off incident that does not indicate the presence of badskins in this area".
